On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Lions Heating & Air had the honor of sponsoring and attending Leeza’s Care Connection Annual Senior Prom, a joyful and moving celebration that brought together caregivers, families, nonprofit organizations, and local businesses all united by a shared mission: to support those navigating the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Held at the Blush Banquet Hall in North Hollywood, the evening offered more than just dinner and dancing; it was a vibrant show of love, gratitude, and community spirit. We were proud to be part of such a heartfelt event that recognizes and uplifts the unsung heroes of our communities: the caregivers.
A Night of Celebration and Connection
From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was clear this was going to be a special evening. The room was filled with music, laughter, and the energy of a community deeply rooted in compassion.
After a warm welcome and opening remarks, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner followed by music and line dancing. Yes, our team got on the dance floor, and it was a blast!
We were so inspired to meet the vibrant community of professionals, families, and volunteers who all dedicate themselves to supporting those facing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. The sense of connection in the room was undeniable, and each conversation was a reminder of the importance of the work being done across the caregiving landscape.
Honoring Those Who Make a Difference
One of the highlights of the evening was the heartfelt appearance of Leeza Gibbons, founder of Leeza’s Care Connection. Leeza started the foundation in honor of her mother, who battled Alzheimer’s disease.
Her personal story, shared during the event, served as a powerful reminder of the challenges caregivers face and the critical need for support systems that offer guidance, education, and emotional care.
Leeza took the time to speak with guests individually, and our team had the privilege of meeting her and taking a group photo. She expressed genuine interest in our Hearts & Homes charitable program and offered words of encouragement for the work we’re doing to support families dealing with Alzheimer’s in Southern California.
Another memorable moment came when we were introduced to the Prom Court: Alma Valencia, Derrick Baker, Theresa Ofstad, Monty Montgomery, Kim Freed, and Danniel Fuchs. Each has demonstrated tireless advocacy in support of families and caregivers.
Sharing Comfort Through Hearts & Homes
As part of our participation in the event, we handed out special appreciation gift bags that included our Home Comfort Tips for Caring Families magnet, a simple but practical guide to maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment for individuals living with dementia.
Families told us how useful they found the tips, and many said they’d be putting the magnet up on their refrigerator as a daily reminder.
We also had the opportunity to share information about our Hearts & Homes program with representatives from senior facilities and home care organizations in attendance. The program, which donates to Alzheimer’s Los Angeles, also offers discounted HVAC services to income-qualified families caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Engaging with fellow sponsors and partners like A Better Solution, All For Health, Ararat Gardens, Arosa Care, Belmont Village, Burbank Senior Apartments, Convalescent Aid Society, Comfort Keepers, Home Instead, Liem Hospice, SFV M.A.P.S., Senior Helpers, Silverado Memory Care Community, UCLA Health reminded us just how many organizations are working in unison to build a stronger, more compassionate network for caregivers.
Why Events Like This Matter
Supporting caregiver wellness isn’t just an act of kindness; it’s essential. Events like the Senior Prom don’t just raise money; they provide connection, validation, and celebration for those who often give so much without asking for anything in return.
They also allow local businesses like us to form meaningful partnerships and contribute to community care in impactful ways.
A Night to Remember, A Mission We Carry Forward
We left the Senior Prom filled with joy, gratitude, and a deeper commitment to our mission. Our Hearts & Homes program is about more than giving, it’s about standing with families during their most challenging times and making their homes a little more comfortable, a little safer, and a lot more supported.
