She expressed her frustration regarding inconsistent heating and cooling throughout her home. The mini split system was not functioning as expected; certain rooms felt uncomfortably cold while others were overly warm. After receiving the call, we sent someone down to inspect the issue.
Inspections Finds The Root Issue
Upon examination, we discovered several key issues. The evaporator coils were heavily dust-laden, significantly impairing airflow and reducing efficiency. Our technician detected low refrigerant levels due to a small leak in one of the copper lines connected to the outdoor unit. We found that the thermostat was not accurately reading temperatures, causing erratic cycling of the heat pump.
After identifying these issues, our technician met with the homeowner to discuss our findings in detail and outline a recommended service. To restore optimal airflow, we proposed a professional cleaning service for both indoor and outdoor coils. To address the refrigerant deficiency, we suggested locating and sealing any leaks before recharging the system with new refrigerant. Given its inaccurate readings, replacing their old system to Daikin Entra mini split.
